The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Lab is a part of Fluid Dynamics Research Center (FDRC) which is housed in the Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering Department (MMAE) of the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). The FDRC was established in 1985. In recent years, the CFD group with its expertise in computational fluid dynamics has complemented the strengths of FDRC in experimental research, and it has partnered increasingly with industry to augment its traditional base of funding through Department of Defense agencies. The research is group is formed under the expert guidance of Dr. Dietmar Rempfer.
